Meet Madison and Darbey
We’re sisters-in-law, designers, moms and lifelong Christmas people.
We both now raise our families in the Treasure Valley. Darbey is a mom of four, Madison is a mom of three, and both of us have degrees in graphic design and more than eleven years of design experience. Every tree House of Trim decorates is designed by the two of us.
Designers first
Graphic design teaches you to see a layout as a set of decisions: what the eye lands on first, where it goes next, how many colors a page can carry before it gets noisy. A Christmas tree is the same problem, just round and nine feet tall.
That training shows up in how we work. We pick a focal point and build toward it. We scale ornaments and ribbon to the size of the room, not just the tree.
From Sandpoint
We grew up in Sandpoint, way up in north Idaho, where winter brings real snow and Christmas feels like a long season rather than one day. We brought that love of the season with us to the Treasure Valley.
Moms of seven
Between us we have seven kids, so we know exactly how December goes: concerts, parties, travel and a to-do list that never shrinks. That’s why our work is done-for-you, and why our trees are built to survive small hands.
Christmas, and Christ
Our love for Christmas and for Christ is at the center of why we started this business. We think the season is worth slowing down for, and we’d rather you spend it with the people around your tree than wrestling with it.
What you can expect from us
- A small calendar. We’re taking a limited number of trees in 2026 so we can do every one ourselves.
- Published prices. Our packages are listed with real numbers, including what taller trees cost.
- Honest advice. If your tree needs a wider ribbon or a few larger ornaments, we’ll say so. If it doesn’t, we’ll say that too.
- Any style. Traditional red and gold or quiet ivory and brass; we design to the room.
- A clean room. We bring our own tools and leave with the mess.
